Nausicaa is one of my very favorite comics, and the anime is one of the earliest memories I have of Japanese animation (aside from Tranzor/Mazinger Z & Speed Racer maybe), as I saw it in the mid-80’s on HBO.

Anyway, this image was done for the Studio Ghibli Retrospective that’s currently touring america. Thanks to the NW Film Center for giving me a reason to pay homage to one of my favorite things in the world.Check out the brand new 35mm prints when they play in May!
